Don’t you just love when people RSVP at the very last minute? Like 4 hours before dinner last minute and suddenly you are scrambling for a gift for people you had no idea were coming.
That is when I pull out the knitting needles and this pattern for dishcloths. It takes 30 minutes of distracted knitting (with the TV on).
What you need:
Cotton yarn ( I use Bernat)
6mm needles (US10)
Cast on 5 stitches.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Kfb first stitch and then knit to end of the row.
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Knit to last stitch, kfb
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: Kfb first stitch and then knit to end of the row.
Row 7-10: Knit
Cut yarn and push work to the bottom of your needle.
Now you are going to cast 5 stitches onto the same needle and repeat rows 1-10.
You should now have two pieces on the same needle. Join these by knitting across them.
Knit 4 rows.
On the next row you are going to start decreasing the first and last stitch by knitting 2 stitches together.
Knit the next row.
Repeat these last two rows until you have 2 stitches left on the needle.
When 2 stitches are left on the needle, cut the yarn off and pull the yarn through the 2 remaining stitches and weave in any ends.
You know have a quick and easy dishcloth.
