Cinnamon Dump Cake

When I was a little girl I loved to watch my Grandmother in the kitchen.  Every Sunday without fail was her baking day and it was my favorite because I was the one who got to lick out the bowl.  She made this particular cake every weekend because it was truly a favorite and would always be gone by Tuesday.  Over Christmas I found her old recipe book and brought it home to relive some of the old family favorites. Without question, I knew this had to be the first recipe I tried.

This cake is so easy to make and has such a fast prep time that it is fantastic for when you want to do some baking but don’t want to commit to a half a day endeavor.  The batter is all done in one bowl and the end result is too delicious for words.

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until evenly combined.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
